Over 800 guests attended the National Italian American Foundation Gala at the historic Cipriani 42nd Street in New York on April 10. An evening of elegance, gratitude, and Italian pride, which this year took on a special meaning: the beginning of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Foundation.
Hosting the event were President Robert Allegrini, Chairman Robert Carlucci, and Vice President John Calvelli, who movingly recalled NIAF’s mission: to celebrate and support Italian roots in America. Among the guests of honor were the recipients of the prestigious NIAF Dea Roma award: Claudio DeVellis of PwC for financial services, Sal Paolantonio (ESPN) for television journalism, Carlo E. Petrillo of Yonkers Contracting for civil construction, and Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma, for his contribution to infrastructure and economic development. Also in attendance was former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who presented the award in memory of his father Mario to Lorraine Grillo, CEO of Bradford Construction Corp.
Speeches were also given by the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Mariangela Zappia, and Francesco Rocca, President of the Lazio Region, selected as NIAF's Honorary Region for 2025. During the evening, a historic partnership between Lega Serie A and NIAF was also announced, aimed at strengthening cultural and sporting ties between Italy and the Italian-American community in the USA.
NERO Lifestyle, as Presenting Sponsor, took part in the traditional Silent Auction with three stays for two people at selected properties in the collection: Villa Cortine Palace on Lake Garda, Botania Relais & SPA in Ischia, and Li Finistreddi Exclusive Country Retreat near the Costa Smeralda. All guests also received a NERO Lifestyle gift bag containing a €200 voucher valid at the properties, the NERO Lifestyle magazine, promotional materials, and branded gifts.
