Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie 2025: NERO Lifestyle among awards, stars and exclusive evenings
From November 12 to 15, the Principality of Monaco hosted the 22nd edition of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie, the event created and chaired by Ezio Greggio, which celebrated four days of cinema, comedy and great entertainment. The event saw the participation of international stars and leading figures from Italian cinema, confirming its role as a benchmark in the film world dedicated to comedy.
The awards ceremony, held on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 pm, was hosted by Ezio Greggio, who welcomed numerous celebrities on stage including Madalina Ghenea, Gabriele Mainetti, Paolo Genovese and Giovanni Veronesi. During the ceremony, the main awards of the festival were presented, including the “Cinema Legend – Legend Award” to Franco Nero for his career and the prestigious MCFF Legend Award to Lino Banfi, while Massimo Boldi and Vincenzo Salemme were honored with the MCFF Award. Gerry Scotti received the MCFF Exploit Award for his significant contribution to Italian television entertainment.
The Marlu’ Social Award was given to Madalina Ghenea for her concrete commitment to initiatives with strong social impact and for turning her talent into a means of conveying authentic values. Among the most anticipated moments was the performance by Gipsy’s Kings Way with Pablo Reyes, who brought the energy of flamenco tradition to the stage and reinterpreted the hits of the historic band. Pablo Reyes also received a lifetime achievement award for keeping the artistic legacy of the Gipsy Kings alive.
The festival jury awarded “La cena” by Manurel Gómez Pereira as Best Film, recognizing the film’s ability to address a delicate topic such as Francoism with intelligence and humour, without losing emotional depth. The Best Director award went to “Partir un jour” by Amélie Bonnin, while Juliette Armanet received the Best Actress award for her intense and poetic performance in the film. The Best Actor award was awarded ex aequo to Guillermo Francella for “Homo Argentum” and to Mads Mikkelsen for “The Last Viking”.
