The Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, an historic and prestigious 4-5-star hotel on Viareggio’s seafront, was built in the early 1920s, and a two-year restoration brought it back to its former splendour, opening again in 2004.
The 106 rooms are on five floors, each one of which has a different style of decor that represent the perfect journey across the elegant generosity of each era, culminating in the contemporary brightness of the roof-top heated pool, a blue space stretching towards the sea, and merging building and horizon in the eye of the beholder. The rooms, which have views over the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea, are beautifully appointed and have broadband Internet, plasma satellite TVs, a choice of pillows and beautiful marble bathrooms with showers and/or bath tubs.
The "Il Piccolo Principe" restaurant, 2 Michelin Stars, offers an exquisitely refined cuisine that is enriched and set off by a well-stocked wine list that can be appreciated either inside the elegant and exclusive restaurant room or outside on the bright roof garden and by the pool. The "Regina" restaurant, instead, serves traditional cuisine. The Spa, extending over more than 350 m2 features a thermarium area with a sauna, Turkish bath, Kneipp pool, chromo/aroma therapeutic showers, fitness centre, relaxation area, beauty and holistic treatment rooms.
