Borgo Scopeto Relais has stunning views of the city of Siena, a corner of paradise with views over the Mangia Tower and the cathedral’s belfry which, together with the rolling Chianti hills, create a setting of luminous beauty.
The relais is a typical Tuscan estate, which for five centuries was the residence of the famous Sozzini dynasty, that has been beautifully restored and has all the elegance of yesteryear. The buildings blend in with the countryside and enhance it just as the internal decor is perfectly balanced and adds an international touch. There are boundless vineyards, olive groves and holm oak forests around the villa and the Eric Scoparia, the shrub used to make brushes, and which gave the place its name, still grows wild in the environs.
Borgo Scopeto has 58 elegant rooms with all modern comforts which have lost none of their original 14th-century charm. All the rooms are different: some have an independent entrance and overlook the gardens, others have stunning views of Siena’s countryside or of the charming little village, and make guests feel they have stepped back into the Middle Ages.
